We offer CCR Cylinder Sets configured for use with closed-circuit rebreathers. They are aluminum or steel, pre-configured for use as oxygen and diluent in your choice of sizes. The oxygen cylinder has a green handwheel and includes a green and white oxygen decal. The diluent cylinder has a black handwheel and includes a red and white diluent decal. Labels are shipped loose so that you may apply in the appropriate position. The valves are Thermo 200-Bar DIN modular valves or we also offer cylinders configured with the special APD valves for use with the Inspiration and Evolution. The valves are configured by default as shown: Oxygen on divers right, outlets facing away from diver. Or if you prefer a different configuration, in the special instructions at checkout let us know what rebreather model with oxygen on divers left or right and valve outlets facing away from or toward the diver. Both cylinders and valves are nitrox ready so if you decide to configure them differently, you can change it yourself just by swapping the handwheels.

The cylinders are a pair of Luxfer/Cataline brushed no-coat aluminum cylinders, Faber cold gavanized white steel cylinders, or Worthington hot-dipped galvanized steel cylinders. Both cylinders are oxygen clean with oxygen compatible valves. We ship the cylinders with the valve installed and a few PSI pressure of oxygen compatible air necessary to keep the interior dry. The cylinders have a current month Visual Inspection Sticker; no re-inspection is necessary before filling.

Tek Tip

Advice for Traveling with Rebreather Cylinders Regardless of the brand of rebreather it can be annoying to travel with cylinders because they are carefully examined by security personnel, and occasionally even confiscated. TSA says cylinders are allowed in checked baggage only if the cylinder has an open end. This means you must remove the valve and you must not plug the cylinder opening. Nothing should obscure the cylinder opening, not even just clear tape or a plastic bag. This also means the open cylinders that traveled with you in checked baggage are contaminated and no longer suitable for oxygen service. Have a plan for how you are going to have them oxygen cleaned at the destination. Consider taking the cylinders with you as carry-on baggage, where you can remove a travel cap yourself during security inspections. You may prefer to rent cylinders at the destination or ship the cylinders ahead by a package carrier where the cylinders may be sealed during transport.
